Tim Drake: Robin #8 Review

Writer: Meghan FitzmartinArtist: Nikola CizmesijaPublisher: DC ComicsRelease Date: April 26, 2023Cover Price: $3.99
Tim Drake: Robin #8 couldn't be as bad as the last issue, right?  Tim Drake seemed to walk away from people dying in a burning building, got caught in a fire cage (until he wasn't), and then took down Firefly and Phobia while Bernard was upset at his hateful father.  That is quite the act to follow!  Don't fear, though, because, in this issue, Meghan Fitzmartin gives us ocean motorcycles, ritualistic murderers and kidnappers let out of jail, and a mystery not involving Batwoman suddenly falling out of the sky!  Let's get into our video review...

Catwoman #54 Review

Writer: Tini Howard
Artist: Nico Leon
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: April 19, 2023

To say that Tini Howard’s Catwoman run has been a disappointment is an understatement, and sending Selina to jail for the murder of her lover, Valmont, has not made it better.  In fact, it’s made it so much worse.  The only positive thing about this arc is that it proves that Tini has never been imprisoned. The negative, however, is that it also proves she did no research on what that would be like.  Usually, I wouldn’t mind because this is a comic book, but the shit going on in this book isn’t even good enough for those lower standards.  A big part of this story is Selina’s cat Dutchess living in the prison duct system, delivering street flavors of ramen to her in solitary.  It looks like Selina will be leaving jail soon, but even that has a laundry list of problems.  Let's get onto our video review...

Wonder Woman #798 Review

Writer: Becky Cloonan, Michael Conrad, Josie Campbell
Artist: Amancay Nahuelpan, Caitlin Yarsky
Publisher: DC Comics
Release Date: April 19, 2023
Cover Price: $4.99

The Cloonrads run on wonder woman is coming to an end and while people seemed to lose their minds when it was announced Tom King would be taking over the book in September, most people have largely given the Cloonrads a pass - and I mean they have passed on this book because nobody is talking about Wonder Woman at all.  This book has been floundering since 2017 when Greg Rucka left, and if you look at the long list of creators since then, it’s not hard to figure out why. I am now dubbing those six years  "The Dark Times."  So, after the awful Trial of the Amazons, DC Comics thought it would be great to have another event - loosely tying into the pretty terrible Lazarus Planet event because, you know, that’s going to sell it to fans!  Now, the Trial of the Amazons failed because the Cloonrads were joined by equally bad writers Stephanie Williams and Vita Ayala, so DC learned their lesson and got G. Willow Wilson to help this time.  You know, G Willow Wilson, who had one of the shittier runs on WW during the Dark Times!  And so, to nobody’s surprise, the Revenge of the Gods has been bad and nobody is talking about it.  Oh well, let’s get into this video review…
